A Strong Case Can Be Made For Betting Both Teams Tonight!
Thursday, November 16th 2006 (Bob Acton)

While players and coaches will suggest that marquee games early in the season are not crucial to a team’s psyche, they certainly are when betting games. Last week the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks opened up the season in a rematch of their epic series last season. Dallas was favored by -2 ½ at America’s most popular online gaming site www.SuperBook.com.

The Spurs grabbed the victory and then headed home the next evening to face King James and his Cavalier mates. The Spurs were -5 ½ point favorites, but played like an old team suffering from a massive hangover and succumbed to Cleveland.

The Mavericks flamed out as a favorite and then went to Houston two nights later as a -2 point favorite and got smoked by 31 points. Tonight they are at home to face their former coach Don Nelson and his Warrior team, who incidentally is suing Dallas owner Mark Cuban.

SuperBook opened the line at -10 ½ and the number has since dropped to -9 ½. Bettors must realize that Mavs coach Avery Johnson, will have read the riot act to his players and the man who pays the players has most likely reminded the players about his wanting to send a clear message to the ousted Nelson.

The Warriors are 6-3-1 in the past 10 games against the Mavericks and you would think that he of all people will know how to defense Cuban’s employees. On the flip side you have a talented Dallas team that is in a bounce-back mode after the two thrashings within the past week. You know that Howard, Stackhouse and Nowitzkie are capable of lighting up the scoreboard tonight.

The over/under total which opened at 198 ½ has been bet down a couple of points to 196½. To get the rest of today’s action, why not head over to www.SuperBook.com.
