Linemakers Suggesting Losing Season For Hurricanes!

November 22, 2006 (Miami, FL) – While most Americans will have their attention focused squarely on the NFL tripleheader Thanksgiving Day, SuperBook.com will once again lead the way in offering online sports wagering on College Football.
The Boston College Eagles will venture to South Florida this holiday season and Coach Tom O’Brien and his troops will probably put the final nail in the coffin of Coach Larry Coker. The Hurricanes have been atrocious this year with a 5-6 mark, an ugly melee against Florida International and several off-field incidents.
BC is still in the ACC hunt and a win over Miami and a Maryland defeat of Wake Forest this weekend will get them in the title game. Although Miami has been awful in 2006, they have owned BC IN THE LAST 10 MEETINGS. They may be just 5-5 against the spread, but they have won the last 10 on the money line.
Quarterback has not been a stellar position for the Hurricanes, as Kyle Wright and Kirby Freeman have hit on less then 60% of their passes and are barely above .500 in the all important touchdown to turnover ratio. BC has on the other hand been very happy with the play of pivot Matt Ryan who is completing passes at a 62% clip, passed for over 2500 yards and is 14/7 touchdown to turnovers.
If they lose on Thursday you would have to trace back to 1977 to locate a poorer record. Coker is 58-15 (.795) in his six seasons as head coach, the sixth-best winning percentage of any coach in the country. Above him: Mack Brown of Texas, Pete Carroll of Southern Cal, Bob Stoops of Oklahoma, Urban Meyer of Florida (also with Bowling Green and Utah) and Jim Tressel of Ohio State.
Below him are coaches who include Frank Beamer of Virginia Tech, Tommy Tuberville of Auburn, Phillip Fulmer of Tennessee and Bobby Bowden of Florida State.
Coker led UM to a national championship in a victory over Nebraska his first season and came a penalty away from another national title in 2002 in a double-overtime loss to Ohio State. But after record-setting offensive seasons, UM's offense has become practically nonexistent.
The over/under is 37 and www.SuperBook.com is ready for action!
