Texans May Cause Jets Some Problems!

Superbook.com certainly hopes that Americans are enjoying their much deserved holiday with loved ones and we are just settling in to a great weekend of sports action. On Thursday the honeymoon continued for Cowboys QB Tony Romo, as he through for 5 touchdowns passes, while in Kansas City the poor play of Jake Plummer is a huge concern for Denver bettors.
Speaking of quarterback concerns, the New York Jets Chad Pennington has been brutal of late with just four touchdown passes and six interceptions in the last 5 games. New York fans can be brutal on players as we have seen with the Giants, Yankees and Mets over the years and Coach Mangini has Patrick Ramsey and rookie Kellen Clemens waiting in the wings.
The Jets have been held to an average of 13.5 points over the past six games, and Pennington hasn't thrown for 200 yards in any of them. He's completed less than 58 percent of his passes during that stretch with four touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Jets supporters may think with the 3-7 Houston Texans coming to the Big Apple, that this may be the week the former Marshall pivot gets things in gear. I’m not so certain about that folks, even though Buffalo torched Houston on two long touchdown passes of over 80 yards last week.
If you take a gander at Gary Kubiak’s teams last two road tilts, you will notice that they held the Giants to 14 points in the stadium they will play in this weekend and the Jaguars to 10 and the Jets are not even remotely as talented as these two teams.
The Jets defense also has been inconsistent, creating 13 turnovers in the wins and only three in the losses. They were unable to force any against Chicago. New York has given up at least 125 yards rushing in nine straight games.
That unit faces a Texans offense which rushed for a season-high 188 yards last Sunday against Buffalo. The Texans offense, though, relies heavily on the right arm of David Carr, who tied a league record with 22 consecutive completions last Sunday.
Houston has beaten Miami and Jacksonville twice and in 7 important categories that most handicappers use, Houston is better then New York in 5 of those areas. Yards gained, Yards allowed, Time of Possession, Red Zone efficiency and time of possession.
The line sits at New York -5 and the over/under 39 ½ right now at America’s most popular online sportbook www.superbook.com.
