Race Info: Breeders' Cup Classic winner Zenyatta returns to our race of the week in the Santa Margarita Invitational. Inaugurated in 1935, the race was open to all horses age three and older until it was restricted to fillies and mares in 1938. After a three-year stretch in which there was no race, the race resumed in 1945 and was split into two divisions for 1964. It was first run as an invitational event in 1968.
