The 12th of 18 operators to receive an Arizona sports betting license from the state’s Department of Gaming is slated to open shop in the coming weeks.

SuperBook Sports teased its impending launch in a tweet sent from the company’s account Wednesday.

A company spokesperson told BetArizona.com that SuperBook Sports plans a grand opening in Arizona from Dec. 27 through Jan. 3.

“We look forward to launching in Arizona and bringing the world famous SuperBook name to another market. Our history speaks for itself, and we feel like sports bettors will be happy to get the same great product we have in Las Vegas,” SuperBook Sports Executive Director John Murray said in a statement to BetArizona.com.

The operator, which is partnered with the Fort Mohave Indian Tribe, is one of four groups licensed through a tribe (out of 10) yet to open.

The others are the Navajo Nation (no announced partner), the Hualapai Tribe (Golden Nugget), and the Ak-Chin Indian Community (Fubo Gaming).

WHAT IS SUPERBOOK SPORTS?

SuperBook Sports is a Las Vegas-based company that was founded in 1993 and has expanded to markets in Colorado and New Jersey.

The company’s main claim to fame is its facility at Westgate in Las Vegas, which is billed as the world’s largest sportsbook facility.

SuperBook Sports’ other retail facility is in Black Hawk, Colorado, where the company has a 7,000-square-foot operation nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.

“We are so excited to launch in the state of Arizona,” SuperBook Sports head of marketing Kristin Mackey said. “What a great market this is with some of the best professional and college teams in the country coupled with spring training and outstanding golf events. We are confident that we have a best-in-class app with SuperBook Sports.”

DEADLINE TO LAUNCH IN ARIZONA

As part of the 2021 gaming compact, sportsbook apps in Arizona that received licenses have 180 days to launch operations.

“Within one hundred and eighty (180) days of being approved for licensure, the responsible party shall conduct event wagering in the State or the license shall revert to the Department,” the compact reads.

That leaves the three aforementioned tribes, in addition to the Arizona Coyotes and Phoenix Mercury (Bally’s Arizona), as the lone licensed groups without operations in the state.

The Coyotes have yet to announce a sports betting partnership, but indications are the team expects to have a partner soon and will be operational well within the six-month deadline.

A company spokesperson from Bally’s Arizona told BetArizona.com the company is still planning on rolling out its Arizona product in early 2022.

Additionally, a company spokesperson from Fubo Gaming told BetArizona.com the company still hopes to launch its Arizona product soon, though she could not comment on whether the company would hit its target timeline of opening before the end of the year. On Thursday, the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Fubo’s partner tribe in Arizona, announced it had opened a Caesars retail sportsbook at its Harrah’s Casino in Maricopa.

Attempts to reach the Navajo Nation’s gaming commission and Golden Nugget were not successful.

WHO’S LICENSED TO OPERATE IN ARIZONA?

A total of 18 operators were licensed by the ADG in August, split between 10 tribes and eight professional sports teams.

Tribes that are part of the 2021 compact can conduct retail sportsbook operations on tribal grounds. The Gila River Indian Community and Pascua Yaqui Tribe have both recently opened retail sportsbooks.Sports Betting Licensees
