The deck is stacked toward KU, but TCU could spoil the party

TCU vs. Kansas

T-Mobile Center – Kansas City, MO
7:00 PM ET
Kansas -8.0

The semifinal matchup in the Big 12 Tournament looks slightly one-sided on paper. With Kansas playing TCU in what shapes up as a pseudo home game, the Jayhawks are projected to have an 87.5 percent chance of winning.

The game being played in Kansas City isn’t the only reason for the heavy lean toward the No. 6 team in the country. It’s also about the rosters, as KU is 26-6 for a reason.

But TCU is no slouch. They’re 20-11. And the Frogs have proven they can hang with anyone this season.

On Thursday night, the Horned Frogs upset No. 22 Texas, winning 65-60 to advance to the conference semis. But that’s not the first time they’ve impressed.

In their two earlier games against Kansas, TCU showed a lot of moxie. TCU split the season series, winning by 10 and losing by just four points. The Frogs didn’t blink against the conference bully.

Will the Horned Frogs pull the upset? Well, that’s a tall order. But there’s no reason to believe they can’t once again put a scare into the Jayhawks.
