Three bets worth making when the Seahawks host the Broncos

Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks

Lumen Field – Seattle, WA

8:15 PM ET

SuperBook Line: Denver -6.5

Could the NFL have picked a juicer matchup for Week 1 of “Monday Night Football?” Russell Wilson will return to Seattle in his first game leading Denver at quarterback. Lumen Field is one of the loudest in the league, which Wilson will be on the other side of for the first time in his career. He is largely expected to receive plenty of boos upon his return.

Broncos -6.5 – The Broncos have Wilson, while the Seahawks will start Geno Smith. It’s a clear advantage for Denver, as the line has ballooned all the way to nearly a touchdown. It’s a clear indication people think Wilson will get the last laugh and in his building rivalry against former head coach Pete Carroll. He will, as the Nathaniel Hackett will get a convincing win in his debut as the Broncos head coach.

Under 44.0 – The Broncos defense is scary good. D.K. Metcalf will get shut down by Pat Surtain II and Justin Simmons is there to help, as well. ESPN says he’s the best safety in the NFL. The Broncos offense will take some time to gel, as Wilson and wide receivers Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy didn’t play a single preseason snap. Look for the Denver defense to be the story of the game, while the offense finds a second-half rhythm.

Russell Wilson over 12.5 rushing yards – Wilson isn’t the most mobile QB in the NFL, but he does love to scramble. He will try to make the Seahawks pay for not “letting him cook” and make plays on his own. His total rushing yards is set at 12.5, and the over is a wise bet. Wilson went over that number in seven of his 14 starts a season ago and will have extra incentive to make plays with his legs against his former team.

A sneak peak of Week 2

Three Early Thoughts

Steve Quinne’s first take on Week 2

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium – Kansas City, MO

8:15 PM ET (Thu)

SuperBook Line: Kansas City -3

The Thursday night game is a dandy, featuring a battle between two teams expected to contend for the AFC West title and be in the Super Bowl mix. Both the Chargers and Chiefs won on Sunday, but Kansas City was more impressive. They look like the same old juggernaut. They should get the better of Los Angeles on a short week at home.

Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams

SoFi Stadium – Inglewood, CA

4:05 PM ET

SuperBook Line: Los Angeles -10.5

This is a giant number, especially for a team that scored just 10 points in their season opener. But it’s hard not to imagine that the defending Super Bowl champs will bounce back in Week 2, with 10 days to prepare for a mediocre Falcons team that lost a heartbreaker on Sunday. Look for the Rams to take out their frustrations on Atlanta.

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills

Highmark Stadium – Orchard Park, NY

7:15 PM ET (Mon)

SuperBook Line: Buffalo -9

This is another giant number, but understandable given how good Buffalo looked against the Rams in the season opener. The Bills are arguably the best team in the NFL, while the Titans are coming off of a home loss to the Giants. Buffalo will win, but Tennessee has a way of keeping things close. They’ll cover this one.
