The New York Mets will add to the San Francisco Giants home woes

May 23, 2022

The best team in the National League will keep it rolling at Oracle Park

Mets at Giants

Oracle Park – San Francisco, CA

9:45 PM ET

San Francisco -145

Oracle Park is historically a tough place to play. The Giants are usually good at home.

Perhaps that explains the fact that they’re a favorite tonight. Nothing else seems to make sense.

This season, San Francisco is just 11-10 in their ballpark. And they’re coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of the Padres at home.

Meanwhile, the Mets are rolling. They won two out of three games in Colorado over the weekend and have won four of their last five games.

New York is 28-15 and atop the National League East. Their 28 wins is second only to the Yankees in all of Major League Baseball.

Meanwhile, San Francisco has fallen to 22-18, five games back of the Dodgers in the NL West. They’ve lost four-straight games and six of their last eight.

The Giants send Alex Cobb to the mound. The righthander is 3-1 on the season, but has a 5.61 ERA. He was shelled for seven runs and 10 hits in 5.1 innings in his last appearance.

The Mets counter with David Peterson. The lefty is just 1-0 on the year, but his 1.89 ERA is impressive. In his first three appearances of the season, Peterson allowed just one run in 14.0 innings of work.

One team is trending up, while the other is heading down. Don’t overthink it. The Mets will beat the Giants tonight at Oralce Park.
