The Minnesota Wild will go on the road to take a lead against the St. Louis Blues

May 6, 2022

Wild at Blues
Enterprise Center – St. Louis, MO
9:30 PM ET
St. Louis -120

These two teams battled for home-ice advantage in this series down the stretch, with Minnesota ultimately beating out St. Louis for the better regular-season record. Then in Game 1, the Blues won on the road and took back the edge.

Tonight, they’ll try to put that to good use. And they’ll need every advantage they can get.

Unfortunately for St. Louis, the injury bug is hitting at a bad time. Marco Scandella and Scott Perunovich have yet to appear in the series. Now, Nick Leddy and Robert Bortuzzo join them on the injured list. That’s a lot of defensemen potentially on the shelf.

Meanwhile, the Wild are at full strength. They head into a pivotal Game 3 completely ready to go.

That should provide the edge in what feels like a coin-flip game. St. Louis won the opener by a 4-0 count. Minnesota bounced back to win the second game by the same margin, posting a 6-2 victory. Something has to give tonight.

Go with the healthier team. Go with the better goaltender.

Marc-Andre Fleury was acquired at the trade deadline for just these kinds of moments. The former Vezina-winning goaltender has carried teams in the playoffs before. He’s posted big victories on the road, including last season in Colorado.

The Wild seize back home-ice advantage tonight. Minnesota will upset St. Louis.
