Following all the pomp and circumstance of Opening Day in New York for Mets fans – not to mention Jackie Robinson Day and Tom Seaver Memorial Day – it’s time to get back to the business of baseball. Riding high, the Mets won big (10-3) in front of their frenzied fans on Friday and should continue to do so.
Why? That’s simple: The Mets are one of baseball’s best teams, while Arizona is one the worst.
If you’re into pitching matchups, that also favors the Mets. Arizona will trot out Zac Gallen, who was pedestrian at best last season. His 4-10 record paired with his 4.3 ERA last season won’t scare anyone in the Mets loaded lineup. On the hill for New York is Carlos Garrasco who has an ERA of 1.59 on 5.2 innings pitched this season.
Mysteriously, the money line isn’t ridiculously priced, so taking either the Mets to win outright or giving the 1.5 runs make sense – trust your gut either way.
